Refilwe Mooketsi, famously known as the 1st Lady of Motswako (SA hip-hop sub-genre) and more recently the Boss Lady of Mo Cooper Records, Fifi Cooper is a multi-award-winning rapper and songstress: she is proudly representing the iconic town, Mafikeng. She started singing at the age of 8, joining choirs throughout her primary and high school journey. During that period, she indulged in multiple music genres varying from Jazz, choral to gospel, which led to her melodic artistry, versatility and experience in the music industry. Fifi Cooper’s late father was the orchestrator who introduced her to the music industry. He rehearsed frequently with her, playing the guitar whilst she sang. This inspiration led to Fifi Cooper’s first single Chechela Morao which created a buzz, allowing her to gain credibility as a rapper to be reckoned with. She released her first single Kisses featuring AB Crazy, followed by her debut album titled 20FiFi in December 2015, which features artists such as JR, Kwesta, AB Crazy and EmTee. She was also featured on massive hits such as AKA’s Baddest remix, Dj Citi Lyts hit Washa, Ms Pru’s Ameni and Emtee’s hit Ngeke just to name but a few.
